Automotive repair from David Harkins that comes to your driveway or lot: diagnostics to full engine swaps, transmissions and brakes, with a crane-equipped rig doing the heavy lifting where the car sits.
Mobile mechanic · From prices
Book-hours labor at $145/h, and every job leaves with an itemized invoice. Starting prices come from the same engine that builds your quote; they're before shop supplies and tax, and confirmed once we see the job.

Quote thisThe crane
The crane-equipped rig means an engine swap in your driveway is a normal Tuesday: the dead unit comes out, the replacement goes in, gets dressed and fired, with no shuttling your vehicle across town and no shop backlog. The same crane does the lifting on heavy equipment and large vehicles.
David runs the shop the way a good foreman runs a floor: show up when you said, do the job once, leave an itemized bill. Smaller jobs work the same way. A diagnostic visit is a full scan, live data and a written find, and brakes are pads, rotors and hardware done right where the car is parked.

Transmissions
Give the quote builder the year, make and model, and it prices the transmission that's actually in your vehicle: its book hours for a remove-and-replace and, for an automatic rebuild, every part that goes in, by part number, at what it sells for today.
A rebuild is the whole job: out, torn down and rebuilt, with the valve body, torque converter, bushings, bearings, friction modules, pistons and the soft-parts kit, plus the updated part for anything your unit is known to fail. If your vehicle isn't on file yet, the quote says so and gives a typical range, and the exact unit is priced before any work starts. Old three-speed manuals get a full teardown, new synchros and bearings, set up on the bench.
By the book
Labor is $145 an hour by book hours. Parts are billed at a tiered markup, shop supplies are 4% of labor and parts, capped at $65, and sales tax is 8.25%. The quote shows every line before you book, and the invoice itemizes it the same way.
Where we work
From Buckhead up GA 400 to Cumming, and all the way around the lake: Buford, Flowery Branch, Gainesville. Your driveway or your lot, the rig comes to you. Just outside the zone? Ask when you book.
How to book
Pick the service in the quote builder and add the details: the machine, truck, car or boat. Labor, parts, shop supplies and tax itemize as you type.
Lock the quote for a reference like SH-260919-K4Q2, email it, and quote that reference when you book or pay.
Card payments go through Stripe; we never see your card. A deposit comes off your final invoice, and the final price is confirmed once we see the job.
