The truck

A small crane on the back.

The Seven Heavens truck is a Ford Super Duty service body carrying a Stellar Tiger 2081E crane. The crane's job is lifting motors and heavy equipment on and off the truck's bed.

So an engine comes out of a machine where it's parked, rides back on the bed, and the replacement goes in the same way. It is a small crane. When you book, tell us what needs lifting and about what it weighs, and we'll tell you whether the truck can take it.

Machines and trucks

Fixed where they're parked.

Excavators, skid steers, loaders and tractors get hydraulic, cooling, fuel and electrical repairs on the job site. Box trucks, dump trucks and work trucks get brakes, cooling, suspension and drivetrain work at your yard or lot.

A field diagnostic traces engine, hydraulic and electrical faults on site and leaves a written find, so you know what's wrong before a repair is booked. And when it's the car that broke, the mobile mechanic side of the shop works from the same truck.

What it costs

Priced by the book.

Labor is $145 an hour, the same as every other job. A field diagnostic books at 1.5–2 hours on site, from $218. Machine repairs book at 3–8 hours plus parts, truck repairs at 3–8 hours plus parts, and an engine R&R at 18–32 hours plus mounts, gaskets and fluids ($300–$1,200), from $3,015.

Every invoice is itemized: parts at a tiered markup, shop supplies at 4% of labor and parts, capped at $65, and sales tax at 8.25%. A crane lift is booked by the hour, 1–2 hours in the quote builder. At the short end, 1 hour on the crane is $145.00 labor, $5.80 in supplies and $12.44 tax: $163.24 all in.
